Museum Palais Mamming
Palais Mamming. A newly renovated Baroque palace on Piazza Duomo. Directly at the end of the Meran arcades.
The City Museum Meran. Inaugurated in 1900 as the oldest museum in South Tyrol. After several relocations arrived in the Palais Mamming.
Wiht an exhibition about Meranos historical development. From pre–history and early history to modern art. With some exotic exhibits. Like an Egyptian mummy, a collection of Sudanese weapons owned by the adventurer Slatin Pasha, a typewriter invented by Peter Mitterhofer and Napoleon’s death masks. A modern museum of local history.

Prince’s Castle
In 15th century built by archduke Sigmund von Österreich. Exhibited in two floors with furniture from renaissance and gothic period. The perfect place to study life during the late medieval period.

Touriseum
The South Tyrolean Museum of the development from the tourism. It is situated in the botanical garden “Schloss Trauttmannsdorff”, where Sissi spent here holiday. Today interesting Museum, about the history of the tourism in Tirol. A trip through 200 years history of tourism!

The Castle of Tyrol
Castle Tyrol was the ancestral seat of the Counts of Tyrol. The curtain wall of the castle was built in 1100 and belongs today to the oldest preserved castle walls. Romanic style on doors and windows, gothic decorations.

Typewriter Museum “Peter Mitterhofer”
Situated in Partschins, the museum shows the history of the typewriter. The inventor, Peter Mitterhofer, was from this little town Partschins. You can visit more than 100 modells, some of there are very rare and curious.
