The horse race track Mais. 40 hectare dedicated to equestrian sport since 1935. One of the most beautiful and challenging horse race facilities in Europe. Bedded in breathtaking mountain scenery. An open course. A 5 kilometres long race track. Characterized by ambitious flat sections and obstacle courses. Mostly right in front of the audience. Spectacular obstacles within one’s reach. No binocular required. For a race full of emotions.

Season opening annually on Easter Monday. With the traditional Haflinger horse race. Blond crests and young jockeys dressed in traditional South Tyrolean costumes. Also, the traditional parade through the historic city centre.

Afterwards, the real racing season. From May to October. Mostly obstacle races on the hunt- and barrier courses.

Highlight and conclusion of the season: the Merano Meeting Gran Prix South Tyrol. Held for the first time in 1935. A 5000 metre obstacle race (steeple-chase). The oldest and most prestigious race in Meran. Linked to the national lottery. Share the thrill and win.
